The Gunter Studio was inspired by the legendary 1936 Robert Johnson recording session that helped shape the course of American music. Designed by producer Michael Ramos and sound engineer Steven Durr, the studio will be a modern, professional space rooted in the Gunter Hotel’s rich musical legacy. It aims to foster creativity and collaboration among a new generation of artists while honoring the region’s jazz, blues, big band, and regional music traditions. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the studio will be available to both local and traveling musicians. Ultimately, it serves as both a creative hub and a tribute to South Texas’ vibrant musical heritage.
